Rajasthan ‘sadhu’ chops off private parts over affair allegation

The 32-year-old ‘sadhu’ from Churu district in Rajasthan was rushed to the hospital after his condition worsened. The police are still unclear about the reason behind his action.

A 32-year-old ‘sadhu’ from Churu district of Rajasthan allegedly chopped off his genitals on Tuesday, after he was accused of having an illegitimate relationship with a woman.

“Das is an associate of a self-styled godman and lives at his ashram in Taranagar. We got information in the morning that the man has chopped off his private parts,” said Ramchandra, station house officer, Taranagar.

The police officer said the sadhu was rushed to a local hospital. “As his condition started worsening, doctors referred Das to a hospital in Bikaner . The reasons behind his action are unclear and will be known once we record his statement,” said the SHO.
