Elsewhere, Chandigarh will look to extend their dominance against Himachal Pradesh after reaching 363/2, while Delhi will seek to build on their 309/5 against Jharkhand.
Second straight 200
Delhi captain Ayush Badoni continued his stellar form to score a second straight double century in this Ranji Trophy tournament, during the third-round match against Jharkhand in Ranchi. He got to mark in 216 balls, laced with 28 fours and three sixes on Day 2 of the match. Last week, he had brought up his career-best 217 against Gujarat at the Air Force Ground in Palam.
100 for Patidar
The Madhya Pradesh captain brings up his 18th first-class ton, and his second in two matches. He was dismissed for 109, run out by S Gani. It came amid a rush of wickets from Bihar, picking three inside 37 balls as MP slipped to 407 for 7.
Some respite for Haryana
Aman Kumar removed Siddhesh Lad in the opening 20 minutes before Nishant Sindhu, who had picked up a six-for in the last game, got rid of recent centurion Sarfaraz Khan. Samat Jakhar then dismissed Akash Anand for 24 as Mumbai lost three wickets in 90 minutes to go six down for 339 before lunch.
Tamil Nadu collapse
They looked strong Day 1, folding Railways for 184 runs after three wicket each from Sai Kishore and Sonu Yadav. However, they are seven down now in the opening session for just 107 runs with Raj Choudhary and Toufik Mondal picking up three apiece. Baba Indrajith, batting on 29 not out, remains their last hope to narrow the gap.
Badoni on fire!
The Delhi captain has gone past 150 against Jharkhand. The second consecutive game where he has been in sensational batting form. He continues on from where he left off against Gujarat.
In another game, Madhya Pradesh captain Rajat Patidar has also scored a half-century.
Two quick wickets for Railways
Railways left-arm spinner Raj gets two quick wickets. Dismisses Andre and Athish is quick succession. Tamil Nadu in a spot of bother at 71/5.
Saransh Jain's day to remember
Saransh Jain was the standout bowler on the opening day of Round 3, claiming seven wickets for Madhya Pradesh as Bihar were bundled out for just 99. India are in dire need of a good classical off-spinner in the Test team and hence this performance was a step in the right direction.
Sarfaraz Khan aims to march on
At stumps on Day 1, Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan remained unbeaten on 21 and he will look to see the early phase out and go big. He had scored a ton in the previous match as well. The right-hander is not a part of India's Test squad for the New Zealand series, but one never knows when a place opens so it's best to keep scoring and have your name in the reckoning for the national call-up.
Ayush Badoni's fine form!
Ayush Badoni, the Delhi captain, has been piling on the runs in the Ranji Trophy. In the previous match against Gujarat, he scored a double century and now in the contest against Jharkhand, another century has come off his bat. The skipper is letting his bat do all the talking.
