The Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex, Rohtak, equipped with latest technique and facilities is nearing completion at a cost of about Rs 151 crore and would be a venue for national and international competitions.
Stating this on Wednesday, a Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs department spokesman said that Rajiv Gandhi Sports Stadium was being developed in Sector-6, Rohtak with latest technology over an area of 90.6 acres.
He said that an athletics track for practice had been constructed in the complex in accordance with the international standard at a cost of about Rs 4.25 crore. The 400 meter synthetic track had been converted into a synthetic track of international standard by planting artificial grass on it.
An athletic pavilion had also been constructed at the sports complex. The pavilion had a height of 100 feet and it had a capacity to accommodate 8000 spectators. A synthetic track had also been constructed in front of the pavilion.
Apart from this, he said, three earthen mounts had been developed on international standard and these would provide sitting capacity for 22,000 spectators. A total of 30,000 spectators would be able to view the sports activities in this sports complex, he added.
