As the on-going war of words between comedians Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover gets uglier by the day, there have been reports that Kapil didn’t even spare co-star Kiku Sharda, who essays the role of Bumper on The Kapil Sharma Show. The buzz is that Kapil verbally abused and insulted Kiku on the same flight where the original fight ensued. According to sources, Kapil screamed at Kiku saying, “Maine banaya hai tujhe. Hai Kaun tu? Sirf Rs 10,000 per day ka artist.” Kiku reportedly did not reply, he just sat quietly, without a reaction.
On being contacted, a rather upset Kiku told us: “Please understand, I really don’t want to talk about this topic. Enough has been written about this incident when there was nothing much. It’s too much of hype I feel.”
When prodded further about the incident, Kiku said, “It’s not true at all. Kapil said nothing to me or about me.”
While there’s been a lot of conjecture on actors Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar boycotting and quitting The Kapil Sharma Show, there have also been reports that Kiku is the only one who is standing by Kapil’s side. Confirming that he is not leaving the show, Kiku added, “I am very much a part of the show, as I am under contract with channel and production house. I am just doing my work by being a part of the show and I will continue to do that.”
When asked if he has spoken to any of his teammates from the show, Kiku said, “No comments on that. Honestly, I have consciously decided to stay away from this controversy or get my name involved in it in any way.”
