Lost match but found new God: Twitter hails Kohli’s innings against WI

Virat Kohli played a brilliant knock of 89 runs off 47 balls to guide India to 192/2 against West Indies in the semifinal of the World T20 in Mumbai on Thursday.

But his spectacular knock went in vain as India lost to West Indies by seven wickets.

This was Kohli’s third unbeaten T20I half-century in the tournament. Kohli’s knocks against Pakistan and Australia came at a challenging situation, but the man came out on top.

For Kohli, the defeat will be particularly tough to take. He had carried the team thus far single-handedly and in the semifinal too, exceeded expectations with an all-round show. Apart from ensuring a strong total, he provided India the breakthrough when it was feeling the pressure by ending the 97-run partnership between Charles and Simmons.
