This week, skip your usual evening haunts and get a little arty. The artworks of 33 artists come together under one roof at Evolve 2011, an exhibition of paintings, drawings and serigraphs by veterans, such as Krishen Khanna, Jogen Choudhury, Laxma Goud and MF Husain, apart from young talents.
Organised by Delhi’s Dhoomimal Gallery, the exhibition aims at providing young artists a platform, shared with the masters in the field. The works displayed here explore themes, such as nature, current affairs, spirituality and even religion. “We hope to organise an annual art affair that gives everyone a chance to interact and learn from the experience of others,” explains Priyanka Jain, the curator.
“The exhibition will travel across Delhi and Gurgaon and will be on for a while,” says artist Sanjay Bhattacharya. Talking about the organisers’ decision to exhibit in Gurgaon, artist Neeraj Goswani says, “It’s the right place. This is a venue where one can find new buyers, who have a taste for good art. I have exhibited in different parts of the country, but this is one of my favourite venues.”
