Festive season gives us the perfect reason to shop indulgently, and Diwali is the right festival to pamper the shopaholics in us. But, instead of hitting the malls, why not give yourself a chance to shop as well as help better a cause?

National Association for the Blind, an NGO that works for the cause of the blind, will organise Diwali Mela today, where all the items available for sale are made by students of the association. Through this initiative, the organisers aim to bring out the creative best of the students. Apart from the various stalls selling gift items, greeting cards, candles and other products, there will also be several games and fun activities for the visitors.

This one-day annual fair will also have a dedicated stall for a tarot expert. There will also be mehndi stalls at the mela. But, perhaps the most prized item at the fair are the chocolates made by the students. The mela will kick off with a prayer ceremony, followed by a musical performance by the students, a puppet show, magic show, a folk dance performance and a session of the popular Diwali game, Tambola.
