Asian Games 2018, Day 8 as it happened: Hima Das, Muhammed Anas clinch silver in 400m; Dutee Chand claims silver in 100m
Stunning effort by the Indian athletes as both Hima Das and Muhammed Anas bag a silver each. Dutee Chand put all her troubles behind her as she clinched silver in the 100m race. However, it was a heartbreak for G Lakshmanan who was stripped off his 10,000m bronze medal as he stepped out of the track.Earlier, Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu reached the semi-finals of the women’s singles badminton event and assured India of two medals. Another medal was ensured when the Indian women’s archery team entered the final of the women’s compound team event. Earlier, India’s Fouaad Mirza won a silver medal after finishing second in the individual men’s equestrian event; this is India’s first individual medal in the sport since 1982. The Indian equestrian team also won a silver in the team event. India also bagged bronze in both the men’s and the mixed team. The hockey team continued their dominant form when they beat South Korea 5-3.
