Stunning effort by the Indian athletes as both Hima Das and Muhammed Anas bag a silver each. Dutee Chand put all her troubles behind her as she clinched silver in the 100m race. However, it was a heartbreak for G Lakshmanan who was stripped off his 10,000m bronze medal as he stepped out of the track.
Earlier, Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu reached the semi-finals of the women’s singles badminton event and assured India of two medals. Another medal was ensured when the Indian women’s archery team entered the final of the women’s compound team event. Earlier, India’s Fouaad Mirza won a silver medal after finishing second in the individual men’s equestrian event; this is India’s first individual medal in the sport since 1982. The Indian equestrian team also won a silver in the team event. India also bagged bronze in both the men’s and the mixed team. The hockey team continued their dominant form when they beat South Korea 5-3.

It was a tight finish but then Aman Saini and Abhishek Verma somehow squeezed it through to the semis. They enter the semis by a solitary point and will now face Chinese Taipei at 3.30 pm IST.

This is a real seesaw battle. India take a three-point lead after the third set as they shoot five 10s in the set. The total score now reads 173. Philippines’s score is 170 going into the final set.
Sindhu through to semis, assured of medal
PV Sindhu wins the deciding game 21-14 and is now through to the semi-finals. She is now assured of a medal.
As has been the trend in this match, Sindhu leads at the break. The question is will she be able to convert this lead into a match win.
India’s Manoj Kumar loses 0-5 to Abdurakhman Abdurakhmanov of Kyrgyzstan in men’s Welter (69kg) Round of 16. That’s a shocking loss for someone India saw as a medal contender.

Women’s skeet shooting qualification update
India’s Ganemat Sekhon is currently in 10th place while Rashmi Rathore is in 12th.
India trail 12-15 to Chinese Taipei in men’s Main Round Group 3 match at half-time.
India beat Qatar 227-213 in 1/8 eliminations to qualify for the compound men’s team quarter-finals where they will take on Philippines later today.
The men’s 400m Hurdles heats were called off, which means we will straight away go to the semi-finals in the evening. Two Indians - Dharun Ayyasamy and Santhosh Kumar - will take the field.

India lost 2-0 to Malaysia in the men’s regu preliminary group B sepaktakraw encounter.
Women’s 400m hurdles final update
Jauna Murmu and Anu Raghavan have qualified for the finals of the women’s 400m hurdles final.

That was quick. India won the team’s event with little to no trouble. That’s a good start and they will hope to keep the momentum going.
India progressed to the semi-final in the women’s TBR 500m with the timing of 2:32.491.
