A passenger Naveen Dubey said the food was served between Jhansi and Bina stations.

"We found fungus on the parathas that were served to us. Rest of the food was also bad. When we informed the matter to catering manager, he said he was helpless as he had to serve what he received. The manager said we should complain. Accordingly, we lodged a complaint,” he said.

Dubey said the passengers were upset with the catering service.

They should be given an option whether they want food or not, he said. "If we refuse to have train food, the railway authorities should not charge us for that," he said.
