Bhopal: Raghuram Rajan visits his hometown

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Raghuram Rajan was in Bhopal, his birth place, on Thursday for personal reason.

He also attended meeting with general managers of three rural banks, general manager of Central Bank of India and State Bank of India at Central Bank of India’s regional office. According to sources, the various discussions over steps to strengthen the banks were taken in the meeting.

On Friday, Rajan will go to Sanchi, of Raisen district to see Sanchi Stupa, and will meet chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at CM’s house for lunch. In the evening, a meeting with officers of different banks of Bhopal will be held in a city hotel.
