All the three accused allegedly involved in sexually exploiting a BTech student were remanded in police custody for four days by a court in Ujjain on Saturday.
The Chimanganj police produced the accused before the judge.
Additional superintendent of police (ASP) Asit Yadav told HT that during interrogation more cases of sexual harassment and blackmailing have come to light against the key accused Karan Sisodiya and three of his friends, including a Class 10 student, who is a minor.
While Sisodiya and two others were arrested, another accused Piyush Rajput is still on the run.
ASP Yadav said while Sisodiya is a BCom first semester student, Kaushik has studied information technology.
He said during interrogation, it came to light that one girl from Shajapur lodged a sexual harassment and blackmailing case against Sisodiya and his friends at Shajapur police station and another girl from Dhancha Bhawan area in Ujjain under Kotwali police station lodged similar complaint against Sisodiya about 10/20 days ago.
“Now police will gather more evidence against the accused,” Yadav added.
Fearing social boycott, the girl and her father reached the police station on Friday and requested the cops to withdraw her complaint.
However, the complaint could not be withdrawn as the accused had already confessed to their crime and matter reached the court.
“We have concrete evidence against the accused and the court will now decide their fate,” Yadav added.
