AICC general secretary and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Digvijay Singh on Saturday urged the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the state to declare few polling stations in Rajgarh and Shivpuri districts under the category of "critical polling booths" as they witnessed extremely high turnout during the earlier elections.

Enclosing a list of such polling stations along with the representation to the CEO of the state, Singh said that as per the Election Commission guidelines polling stations which had recorded over 75 per cent of polling in earlier polls should be classified as "critical", official sources said.

Singh said that in such polling stations 80 per cent votes were polled in favour of a particular candidate and therefore it is necessary to keep a watch on them.

He urged the commission to take necessary steps in this regard soon.
