Continuing his stinging attack against AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Monday that the former ruined one generation.
Chouhan was referring to Digvijaya Singh’s 10-year rule in Madhya Pradesh from 1993. The CM was addressing the BJP Mahila Morcha convention at the Lal Parade ground here.
He blamed the Central government for inflation and economic crisis in the country and said the Congress leaders had destroyed MP. Now, they are destroying the country.
Without naming leader of Opposition Ajay Singh, the CM said his comments against him and his wife showed their mean mindset.
Stating that he felt great when girls call him ‘ Mama’ and women call him ‘Bhaiya,’ Chouhan said he would like to promise his sisters and daughters that he would not allow any kind of discrimination against them.
Bharatiya Janata Party’s Mahila Morcha national president Saroj Pandey apparently attacked Rahul Gandhi without referring his name. “Yuvraj never tries to see the problems of poor people beyond election time. At election time, he spends night in the hut of a poor family for obvious reasons,” she said.
BJP senior leader Sumitra Mahajan also attacked the Congress on the issue of inflation. The scams like 2G are responsible for the inflation, she claimed. Talking about the women reservation bill, BJP state president Narendra Singh Tomar said in spite of leader of the Opposition in parliament Sushma Swaraj’s support, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi is delaying the women reservation bill.
Accusing the Congress of not respecting women, BJP national secretary Sudha Malaiya said BJP always thought of redressing women’s problems.
Those who were present are BJP national general secretary Ananth Kumar, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s wife Sadhna Singh, state Mahila Morcha president Lata Wankhede, school education minister Archana Chitnis and woman and child development minister Ranjana Baghel, among others.
