The fire spread in an area flooded with dried leaves of bamboo trees and other shrubs on the Shyamla hills facing the Upper Lake, fire brigade sources said.

The fire was doused in nearly 40-45 minutes, they said adding that a The cause of the fire is yet unknown, they said. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister’s official residence, Vanvihar National Park and National Man Museum is situated a little distance away from the site of the fire.
