Madhya Pradesh farmers end protest

The agitation by farmers, who laid the seige to Bhopal, ended on Tuesday with the Madhya Pradesh government accepting 50 of their 183 demands.

The agitation by farmers, who laid the seige to Bhopal, ended on Tuesday with the Madhya Pradesh government accepting 50 of their 183 demands.

The accord came about at a meeting between the state government, led by minister and spokesperson Narottam Mishra, and a group of agitating farmers, under the banner of Bharti Kishan Sangh at Ballabh Bhavan.

Farmers' leader Shiv Kumar said they would withdraw their agitation that began on Monday.
