Shooting of film-maker Prakash Jha’s ‘Rajneeti´ at a local college on Sunday was deferred to pave the way for a competitive exams following intervention by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The Department of Higher Education had earlier permitted the use of Government Hamidia College campus for two days on February eight and nine for the shooting, unaware of the fact that the institution was one of the centres selected for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) scheduled for Feb 8, official sources said on Monday.
Since both the programmes were clashing on Sunday and no final decision was taken till Saturday evening, the exam observers from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) approached the Chief Minister and sought his intervention into the matter, sources said.
Later, the Chief Minister instructed the officials concerned to conduct the exams at any cost on the scheduled day which paved the way for about 500 aspirants to appear for it, they said.
