Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave these directives during review of Tourism Departmentsf activities here on Tuesday. Tourism minister Tukojirao Puar and chief secretary R Parasuram were present on the occasion.
Chouhan said that road connectivity, cleanliness and lodging arrangements at all the tourist destinations should be incorporated in the vision document.
New tourism spots should be developed,h he said. Chouhan directed that a strategy should be chalked out to attract tourists to MP. Tourism promotion events should be organised.
He said that funds received from the 13th Finance Commission should be utilised within time limit.
It was informed at the meeting that an increase of 16% has been registered in tourists visiting the state. Offices of Tourism Development Corporation have been opened at Surat and Varanasi. A scheme has been chalked out to develop tourism centres in every district of the state. Building of Hotel Management Institute started at Indore will be constructed till March. A scheme has been chalked out to organise Bhagoria Utsav in Alirajpur and Jhabua on the lines of Pushkar Mela.
