While family members of stranded pilgrims in Uttrakhand are having nightmares about the safety of their near and dear ones, the MP government’s top officials, who have been assigned the job to monitor relief and rescue operations, don’t answer calls on their cellphones.
This was despite the fact that the government sent their phone numbers to media houses for informing the public about the same.
Secretary in CM Secretariat Hari Ranjan Rao, assigned the responsibility to monitor relief and rescue operations and under secretary Neeraj Vashishth, coordinating officer, didn’t answer calls made to their cellphones despite repeated attempts.
The mobile number of district commandant Santosh Jat, who was made in- charge of the emergency control room, remained out of network area. MP’s Control Room telephone number 0755-2556422 remained continuously busy despite HT calling it at least two dozen times.
