Even though the number of films he does every year have reduced now, actor Sunny Deol says he has learnt through his experience that one needs to be doing something constantly to stay in the audience’s mind.
“I know now that you have to be seen and for that you have to be doing something to be there around the fans but fortunately for me my earlier films were so good that people keep talking about them and their dialogues. So somewhere if I am not there, I am still there,” says Deol, who was seen in Ghayal Once Again (2015) and has given blockbuster films such as Arjun Pandit, Gadar and Damini.
When asked why did started doing less films post Yamla Pagla Deewana (2011), the actor says, “It was not something that one plans. At times, things just happen. I remember after YPD, I was doing 3-4 films which I was working on and they were supposed to release and complete but glitches came up and things didn’t happen as planned. Then I got into producing and directing films on my own.Something or the other always delayed me. Ghayal Once Again took 2 to 3 years; I was just tied up.”
Even after so much success in Bollywood over the years, the 59-year-old actor emphasis on the need of doing good projects.“I always say that I want to do more films but somehow don’t get the subjects that I like. I get subjects which I have done over and over again and at times you do them but definitely I would like to do more things that motivate me and help me move ahead,” says the actor.
