It’s no secret that Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha are set to work together in the Hindi remake of the 2003 Telugu hit, Okkadu, which will be produced by his father Boney Kapoor. And although the film is all set to roll in January, it had no title, until a few weeks ago. But now, thanks to Aditya Chopra, that problem seems to have been solved.

Apparently, Boney and Arjun wanted the title ‘Tevar’ for their remake. But on further enquiries, they realised that the rights to this title were with Yash Raj Films. The title itself was supposedly one of late Yash Chopra’s favourites.

“Ever since they hit upon the title, both Boney and Arjun were clear that they want it because it fit the film’s storyline perfectly. Tevar, which literally means attitude, is apt for the role Arjun is playing. When Arjun told Adi about this, the latter gave him the rights readily, and for free,” says an insider close to the Kapoors.

When contacted, Arjun confirms, “It makes me very happy to know that I am close enough to Aditya and his production company that I had to just ask him once. Without batting an eyelid, one of Yash uncle’s favourite titles was released immediately and handed over to me. It’s yet another small reminder for me that they regard equations above business.”

Arjun was launched by Aditya last year, with Habib Faisal’s Ishaqzaade. And earlier this year, he starred in another Yash Raj production, Aurangzeb. Next year, too, Arjun will be seen in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Gunday (produced by Aditya) alongside Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra.
