Filmmaker Manmohan Desai's 1977 hit, Amar Akbar Anthony is being remade in Britain with the title, Amar Akbar & Tony.The director of the remake is Atul Malhotra, who has made several documentaries for British TV.

Filmmaker Manmohan Desai's 1977 hit, Amar Akbar Anthony is being remade in Britain with the title, Amar Akbar & Tony. Actor Shabana Azmi, who played one of the female leads in the original, told a Mumbai tabloid, "Ab yeh din aa gaye jab woh hamari film banaa rahen hain. Waah!".
