RIP Siachen hero: Bollywood pays tribute to Hanamanthappa

From 19 Madras, Koppad was trapped under a thick layer of ice for five days after an avalanche struck an Army post at 20,500 ft on the Siachen Glacier on February 3. Nine of his fellow soldiers perished in the accident.

Rishi Kapoor took to Twitter to pay his tributes and wrote, “R I P. Lance Nayak Hanumanthappa Koppad.Proud forever!”
Farhan Akhtar tweeted, “Saddened to read that Lance Naik Hanumanthappa passed away.. RIP. Condolences to his family.”
Expressing his sadness at the soldier’s death, Kher posted a message on his Twitter timeline: “Heartbreakingly Sad to know about #SiachenHero #Hanumanthappa’s demise. We SALUTE & THANK YOU for your Sacrifice. You’ll always be our HERO.”
