In the last two years, the nation has had to mourn the loss of some of the best talents Hindi cinema has ever seen.

On August 14 last year, 1960s superstar Shammi Kapoor passed away, due to kidney failure at the age of 79.

On December 3 in the same year, Indian cinema’s evergreen hero, Dev Anand died in London, shocking everyone who knew him, with fans holding vigils outside his house.

On July 18 this year, millions of fans were left heartbroken as Rajesh Khanna breathed his last. Soon after, on August 26, AK Hangal passed away.

And now, almost two months later, the King of Romance, Yash Chopra bid us goodbye, as he succumbed to multiple organ failure after contracting dengue. For many who knew him, it was a fact difficult to accept. Yashji was not only considered ageless, but he had just wrapped up his last directorial venture, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, starring one of his favourite actors Shah Rukh Khan, which is set to release next month.
