Shah Rukh Khan-Salman Khan fought and made up
Good friends Shah Rukh and Salman had a heated argument at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party in 2008 and then began a long cold war. They came together at an Iftar party, and hugged and patched up.
CBFC chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani
Veteran film-maker Pahlaj Nihalani shocked the industry and audiences alike with his list of restrictions and cuts on movies. This caused the industry members to unite and take a stand for creative liberty.
P.K. and Bahubali: The Beginning did record business
Directed and co-produced by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Aamir Khan, P.K. (2014) became the highest- grossing Indian film of all time, making over `330 crore net (in India). Bahubali: The Beginning, directed by SS Rajamouli, made a box-office record when the Hindi version garnered over Rs100 crore.
Salman Khan acquitted of all charges
After being accused of driving drunk and causing an accident in 2002, Salman Khan was acquitted in the case by the Bombay high court in 2015. Earlier this month, the Rajasthan high court also acquitted the actor in two chinkara poaching cases from 1998.
Surrogacy is the new mantra in Bollywood. Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan had AbRam, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao had Azad while single dad Tusshar Kapoor became father to a baby boy, Laksshya.
Over 10 film-makers returned their National Awards siding with the students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), who were protesting the appointment of actor Gajendra Chauhan as the chairman of the institute. They claimed he lacked artistic credentials.
There were numerous nuptials in the entertainment industry with the likes of Shahid Kapoor-Mira Rajput, Saif Ali Khan-Kareena Kapoor, John Abraham-Priya Runchal, Aishwarya Rai-Abhishek Bachchan, Aamir Khan-Kiran Rao, Vidya Balan-Siddharth Roy Kapur, Preity Zinta-Gene Goodenough, Urmila Matondkar-Mohsin Akhtar Mir, Bipasha Basu-Karan Singh Grover, and Riteish Deshmukh-Genelia D’souza, among others.
An FIR was filed by the Mumbai Police after receiving complaints against a roast comedy show, All India Bakc**d Knockout, which featured Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, etc. The FIR was filed for use of profanities. Another FIR was filed against the organisers for conducting the show without any performance license.
Getting freedom back
Sanjay Dutt became a free man. The 56-year-old actor, who was convicted in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, served a 42-month sentence at Pune’s Yerwada Central Jail, and was released on February 25.

Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone’s foray into mainstream Hollywood
While many other actors have worked in Hollywood, mainstream actors Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are perhaps the first to balance Hindi and American cinema. They are awaiting the release of their Hollywood debuts.
