Actor Deepika Padukone may be earning accolades for her stellar act in her recently released film, Finding Fanny, but not many know that it was Sonam Kapoor who was director Homi Adajania’s original choice for the role of Angie.
“Sonam was offered Finding Fanny but had to turn it down due to prior commitments,” says a source close to Sonam, whose next film, too, releases this month.

Sonam, however, has no regrets, and after recently attending a special screening, has been openly showing her appreciation for the film that also stars her cousin Arjun Kapoor.
“Sonam immediately agreed and watched the film when Homi invited her for the special screening,” says the source. In fact, although often pitted as rivals, Sonam did not hold back her praise for Deepika when she met her at the screening. “They greeted each other warmly and spoke at length about the film. Sonam was all praise for her, ” says an onlooker.
The film also stars veteran actors Dimple Kapadia, Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapur.
