Devgn replaces song last minute
Director Priyadarshan shoots a new romantic song for Aakrosh starring Ajay Devgn and Bipasha Basu at Ajay’s behest. Read on to know why.
Ajay Devgn, known for intense and edgy performances, has an eye and ear for music too. The picturisation of a romantic song featuring Bipasha Basu and him for

Aakrosh
was stopped halfway at his behest and director Priyadarshan opted to shoot another track for the film.
One evening, after Devgn and Basu wrapped up the day’s shoot for the song
Mujhe ishq mein rab dikhta hai
in Diu, composer Pritam played a new track,
Saudebaazi
, for the actor. By the end of the song, Devgn was so impressed that he decided to incorporate it in the movie.
Devgn and Pritam met Priyadarshan and producer Kumar Mangat with the new song. Although they liked the track, they were apprehensive about canning the song they had shot, but eventually, they gave in.
“Ajay loved
Saudebaazi
so much that he insisted we have it in the film. He didn’t want another situation, he wanted us to replace
Ishq mein...
, which was rather westernised.
Saudebaazi
, which is on air now, is a soft number and Ajay felt that it suited the situation better,” reasons Mangat.
When asked about the previous track, Mangat says that they stopped work on it immediately. “We couldn’t use the
Ishq mein...
track in the film because there’s no appropriate situation for it anymore,” he adds. “So it doesn’t feature in the
Aakrosh
soundtrack either. It’s a nice song. We might use it in another movie.”
