Dil Dhadakne Do team upset over Deepika at special screening

The presence of Deepika Padukone at a special screening of Ranveer Singh-starrer Dil Dhadakne Do, has miffed the production team of the film.

That actor Deepika Padukone ­attended a special screening of Zoya Akhtar’s new multi-starrer Dil Dhadakne has apparently not gone down well with the producer-director’s friends.

It all began with a special request from actor Ranveer Singh, who is part of the film. Ranveer had requested Zoya to invite Deepika, his rumoured girlfriend, for the screening, as Zoya is extremely ­particular about who sees her films before their release. And while Zoya accepted Ranveer’s request, her friends, who have also been requesting her to organise a screening, are upset about it.

Zoya was apparently ­overheard expressing her distress on the day of the special screening. "She was talking to one of the ­publicists for the film and mentioned that her friends are unhappy with her. They have asked her why special arrangements can be made for Deepika, but a screening cannot be organised for her friends," a source tells us.

The director is now ­planning a special screening for them, too. "The film’s team is busy ­promoting the film right now. But since Zoya has been getting requests for special screening from many people, she has finally ­decided to show the film to them," says the source, ­adding that the dates are not yet finalised.

When contacted, the film’s spokesperson confirmed the news, saying, "Yes, Zoya’s friends are a little disappointed that they haven’t seen the film yet. They are looking forward to watching it."
