South India is gripped by the Rajini fever. Reportedly, cinemas in south India screened Endhiran's first day first show in the wee hours of the morning.

South India is gripped by the Rajni fever. Cinemas screened Endhiran's first show as early as 4 am in some parts of Tamil Nadu, reports website.

Thosands of Rajinikanth fans gathered outside cinemas in Chennai at 4 am to catch the first show.

Buzz is that enthusiastic fans didn't hesitate to shell out a whopping 1000 bucks a ticket to watch their favorite superstar in action.

Though Indian fans got to see the movie in the wee hours the morning, overseas fans of the superstar were luckier as in UK, Endhiran opened at 5.40 pm (11.10 pm IST) on September 30th.

The release of the much-awaited Rajnikanth starrer was equivalent to a grand festive atmosphere where fans flocked to the cinemas in a euphoric mood.

Touted as Asia's most expensive film, Rajnikanth and Aishwarya have set the screen ablaze in a robotic avatar for Endhiran.
