Grateful to have worked in Pizza 3D: Akshay Oberoi

Newcomers usually pick action or romantic films to make their debut. But actor Akshay Oberoi, who starred in the suspense thriller,

Pizza 3D

, feels he made the right choice by opting for a different film.

The actor seems to have garnered appreciation from critics and the industry.

Praising Akshay, trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, "One witnesses a noticeable growth in the performance by Akshay, who interprets the challenging role with sincerity. The varied emotions that he gets to exhibit — anxiety, fright, vulnerability — come across well in several sequences."

Akshay, too, feels that repeating what others have done is not as exciting. He says, "While I love commercial cinema and will definitely do a few such films, I’m grateful to have had this chance so early in my career."

According to producer Bejoy Nambiar, Akshay has great command over his craft. "Despite his chocolate boy good-looks, he made the pizza delivery boy role work because he managed to ‘own’ the character. The director (Akshay Akkineni) and I were confident about what Akshay would bring to the table. I look forward to collaborating with him again soon," he says.
