Readers’ choice: Meet the nominees for the Most Stylish actors in Bollywood
Most Stylish Actor
In 2012, he entered Bollywood with a bang with Student of The Year. Ever since, Sidharth, who had started off his career as a model, has moved swiftly up to the popularity charts with films such as Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), Ek Villain (2014), and more. Sidharth looks dapper in anything, be it suits, a T-shirt and denims or traditionals. However, his style statement is best defined by casual T-shirts, denims and sneakers.
Ever since he started his career with Student of The Year in 2012, he has proved his acting abilities with versatile roles in films such as Main Tera Hero (2014), Badlapur (2015), ABCD 2 (2105) and Dishoom (2015). His sartorial choices are equally different. Moreover, he wins hearts with his energy levels and infectious smile. Varun, who has always defined his style as “simple, rugged and raw”, can also pass off as super stylish at most events.
He isn’t called Bollywood’s ‘Greek god’ for nothing. With his sharp looks and Adonis frame, Hrithik is easily one of the country’s most stylish men. Be it on the red carpet or in the movies, he sets the temperature soaring with his sense of style. Give him a pair of denims and T-shirt or a bandhgala or a classy suit, and you can be rest assured that he is going to ace all the ensembles with equal panache.
Sushant Singh Rajput
He made his Bollywood debut with a solid performance in Kai Po Che (2013). Ever since, Sushant Singh Rajput has proved his acting credentials. Off screen, his sense of style is more relaxed and informal. Often spotted in shirts, tees and denims, Sushant can also ace blazers and tuxedos. He loves aviators and sneakers.
Quirky, zany yet absolutely stylish best describes Ranveer’s style quotient. When Ranveer entered Bollywood with Band Baaja Baarat (2010), no one could have predicted that he would take the film world as well as the fashion world by storm soon after. He seems to have it all — the candour, unabashed attitude and a daring fashion sense. He can pull off any ensemble with ease and comfort without necessarily thinking of pleasing the fashion police. Still, Ranveer has never failed to shock, surprise and leave others in awe of his style sense.
Most Stylish Actress
Within five years of her debut film Student of The Year (2012), Alia Bhatt has gone on to become one of the strongest and dependable stars with films such as Highway (2014), Udta Punjab (2016), Dear Zindagi (2016), Badrinath Ki Dulhania and more. On screen or off, the 24-year-old’s style quotient is bubbly, vivacious and ‘cool’. She is never afraid to experiment with outfits be it traditional ensembles or casual outfits. However, that hasn’t stopped film-maker Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter from being the fashion police’s favourite.
She hit the popularity charts with Aashiqui 2 (2013). Now, Shraddha’s career is flourishing with back-to-back hits such as Ek Villain (2014), ABCD 2 (2015), Baaghi (2016) and more. What makes Shraddha stand out is her girl-next-door look. Be it traditional wear or western ensembles, Shraddha always manages to carry herself off with elegance and panache, which has gone on to become her trademark style now.
She has had a rollicking career in Bollywood (ever since her big breakthrough outing in Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya; 2005) with several blockbusters and stories on her personal life. But when it comes to her dressing sense, Katrina doesn’t come across as experimental as many other B-Town divas, especially the younger lot. Be it her media interactions or airport looks, the actor usually prefers to keep things simple. However, with her flawless skin and impeccable frame, Katrina never fails to get heads turning.
The true-blue ‘queen’ of style, Kangana has never let the fashion police down with her appearances. She has come a long way — from her unkempt avatar in her debut film Gangster (2006) to a graceful and glamorous person. She continues to nail each and every look, be it a voluminous gown, a traditional sari, or her ‘cool’ airport looks, with equal panache. In fact, on Koffee With Karan, Alia Bhatt said that she loved Kangana’s airport looks.
She made her Bollywood debut by starring opposite Salman Khan in Dabangg (2010) as a village belle, but Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter soon transformed into a fashion diva of sorts with her sartorial choices. At a time when the ‘size zero’ fever was raging, Sonakshi turned the notion on its head by proving that curves can look sassy, thanks to her immaculate appearances. Upping her style game in the last four years, Sonakshi has been acing almost every look, be it a simple denim-T-shirt look to gowns and traditional Indian outfits. Sonakshi’s red-carpet appearances are an amalgamation of sassiness and edginess.
