The actor says she is proud of making a mark in the industry without having to join the camp politics. “I did not come into films through anyone. I came as my own person. From the very beginning, I got to work with talented filmmakers. I depended only on my talent and the support of my fans...mujhe aur kuch aata nahi hai,” she says. Her character in Barfi, PC says, was one of the hardest to perform. “It was very hard to do justice to an autistic character. It was one of my toughest roles,” she says, adding, “I think Ranbir is one of the best actors we have in today’s generation. He has the guts to take chances. As a co actor, he gives a lot of support. He is an incredible actor.”

And does she see Barfi winning a National Award?
“I am grateful for all the awards but I don’t do films keeping awards in mind. A film has to reach my heart. I have played a vamp in Aitraaz, a murderer in Saat Khoon Maaf because it’s boring to do the same things. I compete only with me. With every film I sign, I ask myself, will I be able to surprise the audience?”

Different things also mean her new ‘Daddy’s li’l girl’ tattoo.
“My tattoo is in my dad’s handwriting. I got him to write it, traced it on my hand and then got it tattooed,” she says.
