Juhi Chawla has a lot to look forward to in the coming year. The actor, who will celebrate her birthday tomorrow, has a big release — Gulaab Gang — lined up. “I am playing a villain for the first time. Initially, I was shocked that the makers wanted to cast me in a negative role. But it was fun playing a vicious, manipulative person. Also, it was great to work with Madhuri, although we didn’t have very many scenes together.”

The actor is also amused by the fact that every time she stars in a film, it is hailed as her comeback. “I seem to have had six comebacks already,” she says. Juhi is also looking forward to appearing on Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan, this season. She says, “I’ll be on the show finally. I told Karan to pair me with Aamir (Khan) or Madhuri (Dixit) as I wouldn’t have much to talk about if paired with Salman (Khan) or Akshay (Kumar).”

Why not Shah Rukh Khan, we ask, and she replies, “He’s already doing it with Kajol and, if you put him too often, who will watch?” Post her brother Bobby’s illness three years ago, her friendship with Shah Rukh seems to have taken a hit. SRK had replaced Bobby, who was the CEO of his production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, two years after the former slipped into coma due to a stroke.

Ask her about her equation with Shah Rukh and she says, “We catch up during cricket matches or birthdays. As for Bobby, he recently moved his fingers slightly, so we are hoping and praying for him. I have to give credit to my bhabhi (sister-in-law) for holding on for three-an-a-half years.”

The actor, who has also tried her hand at judging reality shows in the past, says that she doesn’t find them interesting any more. “I would love to be part of something substantial and not just ornamental. Otherwise, I have loads of stuff happening at home that keeps me occupied,” says Juhi, who was last seen in Son Of Sardaar (2012).
