Producer TP Aggarwal is unfazed by the mass protests against him. He says that Kumar Mohan is attacking him out of private vengeance. “There is some personal problem between Kumar Mohan and me because of which he is trying to agitate the mass against me,” says Aggarwal. Reports suggest that Kumar Mohan was supposed to co-produce the remake of Tamil film Saamy with Aggarwal, in which actor Sanjay Dutt plays the lead, but due to certain reasons the deal didn’t work out and now Aggarwal is producing the film alone.
Aggarwal rubbishes Mohan’s allegation of illegally winning the presidency election for the last three terms. “The elections are being conducted as per the bylaws of the association. There are no illegal activities like buying votes,” he says.
He also refutes Mohan’s claim that the producers had come to meet them and he turned them down. “It’s a complete lie. I was not in office at that time, as I was flying from Delhi to Mumbai then. I still have my boarding pass with me as proof,” says Aggarwal. He is firm about his stand. “Such agitations are very old practice in the IMPPA. People keep doing such stuff on and off,” he says.
