It’s Shah Rukh Khan’s film versus Sushant Singh Rajput’s Kedarnath on Christmas, 2018

Kedarnath will reportedly have Sushant Singh Rajput playing a ‘pitthoo’ -- people who ferry pilgrims on their backs to the shrine. Shah Rukh Khan is reported to play a dwarf in the yet unnamed film.

Shah Rukh Khan or Sushant Singh Rajput, who will win the clash?

Director Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath, which features Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan in the lead roles, is expected to hit theatres on its scheduled time that is December 21, 2018. Kapoor tweeted about the film’s release date. The film is the debut of Sara, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter.

But that’s not the bone of contention. Actually, this is the date on which Shah Rukh Khan’s forthcoming film with director Aanand L Rai is also expected to release. If that happens then one of these films will have to suffer and it’s not difficult to guess which one.

Shah Rukh Khan is playing a dwarf in the film which also features Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. It’s said to be one of the most challenging roles Shah Rukh has done in recent times.

On the other hand, Kedarnath will reportedly have Sushant playing a ‘pitthoo’ -- people who ferry pilgrims on their backs to the shrine. The actor is training hard for the role.

The film is likely to revolve around the Uttarakhand floods of 2013 and how the human spirit persisted in the face of tragedy. Ekta Kapoor, the co-producer of Kedarnath, had earlier said, “When we heard the story, we knew this was it. It’s Sara’s debut opposite Sushant. That makes it a fresh pair and adds an edge to the project. Kedarnath is an emotional and riveting tale that blends India’s beauty with a love story from the heartland.”

With Bollywood’s two big producers backing their films, a change of date for one of the films cannot be ruled out.
