John Abraham was first supposed to be part of the psychological thriller, Kala Ghoda. The actor pulled out, citing date issues as he was busy shooting for Sanjay Gupta's Shootout At Wadala and Shoojit Sircar's Madras Café. However, John was also supposed to produce the film with Anurag Kashyap. But now, he has backed out of that role as well.

Kunal Roy Kapur, who was to play one of the lead roles, expresses regret as the film has now been indefinitely stalled. "John was supposed to produce the movie, but he is not anymore. Now, he is not part of it at all. The film has sort of stagnated and they are looking for other producers. But it's an exciting project," he says.

When contacted, John confirms the news, saying, "As of now, I am not producing the movie. It has great content. As for me acting in it, that too is unlikely because of date problems."

When John had walked out of the film, there were reports claiming that the makers were looking for a fresh face to replace him in the movie. However, no one has been found in place of the actor yet.
