Kajol’s next film is titled Eela and it will release on September 14

Eela will be co-produced by Kajol’s husband and Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn.

Kajol’s next film, directed by Pradeep Sarkar, is slated to hit the theatres on September 14, the makers say. The movie, tentatively titled Eela, also features this year’s National Award for Best Actor winner Riddhi Sen, who will play Kajol’s son and Neha Dhupia, who will essay the role of a drama instructor.

Kajol was last seen in Tamil film VIP 2.

The movie is an adaptation of Anand Gandhi’s Gujarati play, Beta Kaagdo. Kajol plays a single parent in the film, which revolves around the relationship shared by a mother and son.

The film is produced by Ajay Devgn and Jayantilal Gada of Pen India Limited.

Kajol was last seen on screen in VIP 2, a Tamil comedy film directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth. She played the antagonist in the film.

It was a sequel to the 2014 film Velaiilla Pattadhari. VIP 2 also features Dhanush, Amala Paul, Vivek, Hrishikesh, Saranya Ponvannan and Samuthirakani.
