A recent media report had stated that Son of Sardaar's director Ashwni Dhir had first approached Kajol for the lead role opposite Ajay Devgn in the movie.
The report even went on to say that Kajol declined the movie due to her household commitments and suggested Sonakshi's name instead. However, there is not an iota of truth in this news, says the film's spokesperson.
Sonakshi was always the original and only choice of the director for the part opposite Ajay Devgn. The team always had Sonakshi in mind for this role. She was the first heroine who was approached and she gave a nod to the film immediately. News about any other actress being approached for the role is absolutely untrue.
