Kalank song Ghar More Pardesiya: Alia Bhatt shares pic, teaser video for song that gave her sleepless nights

Actor Alia Bhatt has shared a picture and a teaser video of a song from her upcoming film, Kalank. She took to Instagram to tease her fans with the song titled Ghar More Pardesiya, one that she says gave her many sleepless nights.

“A song that gave me sleepless nights, days & months is coming very very soon.. I think you can safely say that I have never been SO nervous for anything in my life.. *screams frantically and hides under bed* You may have to send a search party to find me. Meanwhile watch this space for more..,” she captioned the photo. It shows Alia dressed in a white lehenga with a dupatta over her hear. The picture is framed with large, bright yellow curtains and she is surrounded by men in vaanar sena costumes.

She later also shared a teaser video for the song. It shows Varun and Alia walking through a crowd as their town celebrates ramleela. Watch it here:

Fans too loved the picture, calling it beautiful. “Damn waiting for it,” wrote a fan while others called it elegant and gorgeous. Alia is said to have performed a traditional Indian dance form for the song. Even her co-star from the film, Madhuri Dixit was left impressed by her performance. In an interview to Harper’s Bazaar, Madhuri said Alia exceeded her expectations with her dance performance in the song.

The film also stars Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt. It is directed by Abhishek Varman of 2 States and is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.


Beginning March 7, the team of Kalank has been sharing character posters, stills and teasers from the film every day. Over the last three days, the character posters of all six main characters of the film were released on social media.

The film was originally conceptualised about 15 years back by late Yash Johar and his son Karan. It will release on April 17.
