With his recent tweets that dealt with the withdrawal of his nomination from the general elections, actor-producer-turned-politician Kamaal Rashid Khan, who is known for his antics, created a buzz again on social networking sites.
The 39-year-old was contesting the election on a Samajwadi Party ticket from Mumbai North West.
On being asked as to why he took such a decision with elections around the corner, he said, “Yahan Mumbai mein maine party join ki thi isliye ki mujhe laga ke ye party Samajwadi Party hai. Mujhe ye pata nahin tha ki ye UP (Uttar Pradesh) mein Samajwadi Party hai aur Mumbai mein ye Abu Private Limited Company hai. Wo jo kehte hai wo hota hai, jo nahin kehte wo hota hai. Yahaan Ram Gopal (Yadav) ya Mulayam (Singh Yadav) ya Akhilesh (Singh Yadav) ka koi lena dena nahin hai. Yahaan jo Farhan Azmi ke dil mein ayega, jo Ayesha Takia (actor and wife of Farhan Azmi) ke dil mein aega wo hoga. Toh is baat ka mujhe pata nahin tha.”
While KRK refused to comment further on his decision, we asked him if he would contest on his own.
“Mujhe politics mein aane ka koi shaunk nahin tha. Mujhe ek mahine tak almost every second day Abu Asim Azmi sahab ne request kiya tha to mein agree hua tha. But unke bete (Farhan Azmi) ne aisi aisi harkat ki, aisi aisi baatein mere baare mein bol raha hai ki jiski koi intehaan nahin hai. Mein aise logon ke saath kyun rahun ki baap kuch bolta hai, beta kuch bolta hai,” KRK shared.
