Mausam goes live

The Mausam team is set to take to the stage, literally, with a live performance at the popular Mumbai club Blue Frog next Tuesday. The celebrations are being held because the makers of the Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor-starrer are happy that the film’s music has done well.

In fact, sources close to the film reveal that Shahid, 30, has shouldered the responsibility of planning the entire event. And the film’s makers, including the actor’s father, director Pankaj Kapoor, are confident that Shahid can easily handle and plan the finer details of the event. However, Shahid himself won’t sing or dance at the event.

Sources reveal that Shahid is keen to come up with a fantastic evening because the film is special to him, as it marks his father’s directorial debut in the film industry.

Shahid and Pankaj Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, 26, and Pankaj’s wife Supriya Pathak-Kapoor, who is a part of the film, will also be present for the event.

“Since the response to Mausam’s music has been good, we are planning a live concert and performance of all contributing singers next week,” confirms Pankaj Kapoor.

“The songs are an important aspect of our film and we are delighted that they have become so popular. We will surely celebrate this success in a big way,” he adds.

Pritam has composed the film’s music while Irshad Kamil has penned the lyrics.

Interestingly, besides playback singers such as Mika Singh, Shahid Mallya, Hans Raj Hans, Tochi Raina and Karsan Das Sangitha who have sung for Mausam, Pankaj Kapoor too will croon a number at the event, as he has also sung a song in the film.
