Milkha Singh helps out Farhan Akhtar

The usual modus operandi for biopics in ,Bollywood and elsewhere, involves filmmakers consulting the person on whom the biopic is being made, only during the research period. However, producer-director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and actor Farhan Akhtar are on a different track. For the upcoming Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, they have involved Indian athlete Milkha Singh at every stage. A source says, “Milkha has been part of the film’s development from day one, he was present on the first day of the shoot and for the first look. Now, when it is time to work on the theatrical trailer, he has agreed to pitch in once again. Milkha will be giving inputs and be actively involved in the editing of the promo.”

The teaser of the film got a good response when it released, so the upcoming theatrical promo is also being eagerly awaited. “Farhan has been involved with the smallest details, and will naturally be involved with the theatrical promo as well,” the source adds. The film is still a few months away from release. The source further informs, “Milkha will be flying from Chandigarh to Mumbai this month to share his inputs on the trailer.” Earlier, Milkha had praised Farhan for the hard work he put in to get the athletic look for the film. He was also impressed with the actor’s dedication. The film’s trailer is set to release in the first week of May, while the film will release on July 12. Rakeysh and Farhan were unavailable for comments.
