Mother’s Day: Sushant Singh Rajput says the first poem he wrote was for his mother
On Mother’s Day, actor Sushant Sing Rajput says his mother encouraged him in whatever he did and he promised her that he will always make her smile.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s posts on social media are often dedicated to his mother. Earlier this month, the 31-year-old actor posted a poem on Instagram. He now reveals that the poem was his first ever attempt at “creative writing,” remembering his mom, who he lost at the age of 15.
“I wrote the poem when I was in Delhi College of Engineering (now Delhi Technological University). I used to think about her a lot, and this was the first poem. It encouraged me to write more,” he says.
Since then, all of Sushant’s posts about life are dedicated to his late mother. “I used to read all sorts of books, except my course books (laughs). I was into astrophysics, and somehow I got interested in astrology. Then I started reading Philosophy books. I used to read a lot of (Sigmund) Freud. Whatever philosophy you see on my social media is because of those books, and somehow or the other, all dedicated to mom,” he adds.
Sushant, who has a tattoo of five symbols (one of which depicts his mother) on his back, adds, “She was really very close to me and I think so much about her. She encouraged me in whatever I did, and I promised her that I will always keep her smiling. Her death made me introspect about life and I turned into a private person after that.”
