Anil has two daughters — actor Sonam, producer Rhea and son Harshvardhan, who is yet to make his debut.

His production venture Aisha and his recently announced movie Herogiri are book adaptations, but the 52-year-old says that despite being inspired by literary works, both the scripts are original. “Both these films are original interpretations. Even Herogiri is adapted from a book, but the script is completely original.”
