My look is chic, but minimal in RA.One: Kareena

Though Kareena Kapoor has kept a low profile about her part in the Shah Rukh Khan production RA.One, her look in the film’s trailers and song Chammak Challo have created quite a stir. The actor tells all about her sizzling look in the film.

But the actor, who plays the lead opposite the actor-producer of the film, insists that the idea was to maintain a simple yet fashionable and glamorous approach. “My look is chic, but minimal,” says Kapoor.

Along with celebrity designer Manish Malhotra, Kareena made sure she didn’t go overboard with her look in the film. “Manish and I worked on something that’s fashion forward, but not over the top,” she says. Apparently Shah Rukh, who is said to be very particular about every detail of this ambitious project, made some inputs as well? “He gave us some useful feedback and the results are for everyone to see,” she says.

When it comes to setting fashion trends, the actor is among the frontrunners in the industry with films like Jab We Met (2007) opposite ex-beau Shahid Kapoor, Kambakht Ishq (2009) with Akshay Kumar, and the recent Salman Khan-starrer Bodyguard.

Although audiences have only seen fleeting glimpses of her look in RA.One in the two songs Chammak Challo… and Criminal… sung by Senegalese-American singer Akon, it has already generated considerable amount of appreciation. “People love my look for Chammak Challo and Criminal,” she says.
