Now, Shah Rukh Khan wants to be the Saina of movies

Shah Rukh Khan has responded to Saina Nehwal’s tweets about her wanting to be the SRK of Badminton by saying that he would like to be the Saina Nehwal of films.

There seems to be a mutual admiration club forming between the Badshah of Bollywood and the good girl, er, best girl of badminton. Responding to World Number One Saina Nehwal telling Hindustan Times Brunch that she identifies with Shah Rukh and wants to be the SRK in her chosen field, King Khan tweeted on Sunday evening: “I want to be the Saina Nehwal of films!!”

On September 17, when Saina Nehwal posted pictures on Twitter posing with Shah Rukh Khan, it wasn’t any other 25-year-old basking in a fan-girl moment.

It was a feeling Saina relished as much as she loves winning a tournament. For a few hours, she stopped acting as the number one badminton player in the world and held on to every word the Badshah of Bollywood was saying. “When I heard that he was shooting in Hyderabad for Dilwale, I tweeted whether I could meet him. It was really nice of him to spend time with me and let me watch the shooting,” she gushed, as she settled down for an interview with Brunch at the rooftop café of the Tata Padukone Badminton Academy in Bengaluru.

The same evening, responding to her wish, Khan paid back the compliment with this Tweet. Both Shah Rukh and Saina have a sizeable following on Twitter with 15.5 million and 998 thousand followers respectively.
