Once rivals, now best buddies

However, when they were contemporaries, Tandon admits they never spoke much, despite doing three or four films together. She says, “Those were competitive times.”

During that period, there were also reports that said the two had got into a fight on the sets of Andaz Apna Apna, as Tandon and actor Ajay Devgn, Kapoor’s then alleged boyfriend, had a public fall out. Tandon was then dropped from Devgn’s subsequent films.

But now, thanks to their children, Kapoor’s Samaira (7) and Kiaan Raj Kapoor (2) and Tandon’s Rasha (7) and Ranbirvardhan (5), the actors have put their past behind and started bonding. “Since our girls go to the same school, we end up bumping into each other and have bonded well. It’s easier to hang out and discuss our kids,” says Tandon. “I have known Lolo (Karisma) to be a go-getter. To see her as a fabulous mother and homemaker is a pleasant surprise,” she adds.

Do the actors also discuss their comeback into films? “A friend had mentioned that he was making a film and wanted to sign her (Kapoor). So when I met her recently, I asked her to consider it. She is doing that film now,” says Tandon.
