After having bagged all the major best actor (female) awards this season for her performance in Vikas Bahl’s coming-of-age drama Queen (2014), actor Kangana Ranaut is delighted to have received an award by the state government of Himachal Pradesh, her home state.
She says, "Yes, I am very proud of the fact that I am from Himachal Pradesh and now, they are also proud of me,” says the 28-year-old, adding, “It’s good to know that the people of the mountains are happy with me, because initially, even my parents were reluctant and got very offended when I entered Bollywood. But now, even they are extremely proud of me."
Kangana is, in fact, planning to invest in property in the state. She reveals, “I am planning to buy land in Manali and build a house there.”
She has a reputation for staying away from award shows, tagging them “boring and a waste of time”. But now that she has bagged most of the awards this year, does she want to reconsider her stand? "I am looking forward to attending the National Awards because they are different, but I don’t like attending commercial award shows," says the Fashion (2008) actor.
