While Ajay Devgn until now used to take home only Rs 6-8 crore, he will get Rs 18 crore for Vashu Bhagnani's next project, the remake of 1983 superhit Himmatwala.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, "Ajay Devgn is one of the most bankable stars in the industry today. In the last couple of years he has given many hits like Golmaal 3, All The Best, Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge, Rajneeti and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. But it is only after Singham that Ajay has decided to hike his price. After all, Singham earned a profit of over Rs 100 crore."

The actor certainly knows his market value now.

A source close to Ajay Devgn confirms the actor has taken a much-deserved hike. “Ajay Devgn is someone who has a fair knowledge of the business and distribution. He has also been involved in the distribution business for some time now. And that's the reason why he never believed in increasing his price. He would stick to Rs 6-8 crore for his films. But after Singham, his market value has now multiplied. And so, when he was offered Himmatwala by director Sajid Khan, he took it up at an increased fee.”

Well Ajay, may your success run continues!
