Actor Sunny Singh reveals that his family had decided beforehand that he will get into acting.bollywood Updated: Jan 28, 2018 17:00 IST
Actor Sunny Singh set foot in Bollywood with cameos in films such as Akaash Vaani (2013) and Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji (2011), but it was the 2015 film Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, which gave him the recognition he always wanted.
However, not many know that his fate had been sealed right from the time he was born. His family always wanted him to become an actor. After all, his father is an award-winning action director, Jai Singh Nijjar.
“I had a brief stint in television too, which I did to experience how it is to face the camera. Wahaan script aur dialogues jaldi milte the (You would get a new script and fresh dialogues almost everyday). But I always wanted to get into films. Jab bada ho raha tha, tab se dimaag mein daala hua tha logon ne ki actor banna hai (Even when I was growing up, I knew in my mind that I had to become an actor).”
“I didn’t have any other [career] choice. I loved to dance on every song, and would also participate in stage shows. There was a proper plan: that I will complete my 10th and 12th, and join acting classes,” adds Sunny.
Did he too have a typical childhood like other industry kids — going to film sets and meeting big actors on almost an everyday basis? He tells, “I would accompany my dad to his film’s sets. I especially remember going with him on the sets of Vijaypath [1994; which starred Ajay Devgn and Tabu]. There was a tiger on the sets. Main uske saath photo khichaata tha. Shooting kaun dekhta tha?!” laughs Sunny, adding, “Then I remember going to Salman Khan’s film, Kurbaan’s (1991) set. That’s all I remember from my growing years,” adds Sunny, who will be seen next in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.
