No, we don't mean this in a metaphorical sense. Ranbir Kapoor really will be performing live in concert to an audience of about 4000 people, just like a true rockstar. The actor will not only be singing but will probably also be playing the guitar in the concert.

In the past, several top actors have been known to sing lines of the songs they're dancing or lip-syncing to but performing live in concert is a quite a feat and a commendable one at that. Albeit it's a gimmick for his upcoming film Rockstar, but the actor sure has upped the benchmark.

"The film deals with the life of a rockstar. It has a backdrop of rock concerts. The portions of this song, soon to be created at Filmcity, have already been shot in Prague with the locals of that place," a source told Mumbai Mirror.

"The concluding portions of the songs will be shot there. Apparently a crowd of 4000 will be present during the shoot. The producers are even planning to get some real life fans of Ranbir, so that it works for the concert," he added.

Kapoor has apparently never done live performances before and he certainly has not sung or played in public, both of which he has been training for, thanks to his film.
